A British motor show is set to take place on the eve of the Festival of Speed at Goodwood this year.

The 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost is on its way to the real world--but while it's not due to be revealed for months yet, spy photographers have grabbed clear shots of the new luxury sedan.

The photos--cleaned up and presented over on Motor Authority--show a sedan substantially influenced by the Rolls-Royce 200EX concept car from the recent auto show circuit. Rolls-Royce is flashing back to its own past for the name of its new sedan--the "Ghost," according to CEO Tom Purves.

Purves announced the name for the new small Roller at the Shanghai auto show today. It's the first use of the name, though there have been Silver Ghosts in the Rolls lineup. (Then there's the silly movie from 1990 that inexplicably earned Whoopi Goldberg an Oscar.)

Without catching anyone off guard, an exterior stylist for Rolls-Royce disclosed that the company is planning both coupe and convertible variants of its upcoming all-new Ghost sedan. Andreas Thurner, responsible for penning the new four-door, told Autocar that, "...the Ghost was designed in a way to make other body styles... we have to build up a family for the Ghost just as we did for the Phantom."
