Lexus reveals hotter IS-F concept in Tokyo

Lexus has revealed a concept version of its high-performance IS-F at the Tokyo motor show.

The IS-F Circuit Club Sport, or CCS, is a purely cosmetic concept which is caked in carbon fibre – Lexus having used the lightweight material to form the basis of the bonnet, the roof, the mirrors, the boot, door panels, gear lever and even the engine cover.

Tweaks have also been made to the wheels, which are now made of magnesium and accompanied by carbon ceramic brakes and sports suspension.Lexus has decided that the existing 5.0-litre V8 engine with 417bhp is plenty, so it’s left that untouched. But there is a new exhaust system, which will presumably make the IS-F sound even more glorious.

Unfortunately the IS-F concept is not going to make it to the UK, with the ‘F’ styling line coming over instead.
