Goodwood to host ‘British motor show’

A British motor show is set to take place on the eve of the Festival of Speed at Goodwood this year.
The show will take place on Thursday 1 July and, unlike most static motor shows, will allow visitors to test drive the cars around the Goodwood estate and up the famous hill route that features in the Festival.
The idea is the brainchild of the estate's owner Lord March and will play host to several important launches, including the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Alfa is also holding its 100th birthday celebrations at the festival this year.It is not known whether the event will be open to members of the public, or whether attendees will be potential car buyers invited by the manufacturers. The news is good for car fans, but not for the organisers of the British motor show, which was due to take place this year in London but was cancelled due to a lack of manufacturer interest.
