Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has confirmed headline performance figures for Ghost, their new model which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

The new Rolls-Royce Ghost will be powered by a brand new 6.6 litre turbo charged V12 engine unique to Rolls-Royce.

This engine will produce 563 bhp, delivering a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a governed top speed of 155 mph. The engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox.

The new Toyota Prius has scooped its first award, winning the title of WhatGreenCar Car of the Year 2009.

On sale from 1 August 2009, the new Toyota Prius was chosen from a short-list of 10 green car finalists which were test-driven at Imperial College, London, by six of the UK's leading green transport and environmental experts.

Jaguar Cars unveiled the all-new Jaguar XJ car at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, London recently.

Two-times world champion Spaniard Fernando Alonso claimed his 18th career pole position on Saturday when he emerged on top after an incident-filled and chaotic qualifying session for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. The 27-year-old Renault driver grabbed his first pole this year in chaotic scenes as the circuit's electronic timing system crashed in the final minutes after a half-hour's delay following an accident involving Ferrari's Brazilian driver Felipe Massa. Alonso had predicted he would be on pole for the first time since the Italian Grand Prix of 2007 before the session began, but he was left asking his rivals what had happened and what were their times when the session ended.

The first Ferrari Store in Germany was officially inaugurated at Nurburgring, which nestles in the Eifel hills and is the venue for the German Grand Prix.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Räikkönen, who had already been out on the track in the run-up to Sunday’s Grand Prix.
